George Maxwell and Doug Calhoun, two 4th generation family farmers from Bruce County, founded West Grey Premium Beef Inc. in 2003, along with Peter Knipfel, a local grocery store owner. Together, they decided that something needed to be done to renew consumers’ faith in the beef industry, as well as to prove that not all beef is created equal.

Consistent top quality beef begins at the farm level and requires years of experience and knowledge along with modern technology. Attention must be paid to each step of the animal’s growth period, which is what they believe makes the difference in their beef.

They are proud of the fact that unlike many other producers, they are certified Ontario Corn Fed Beef farmers. They take care of their cattle’s nutritional needs, because they know that doing this will help them deliver consistently superior beef products for you.
