You’re going to need a few days to explore Bruce County, so accommodations will be a necessity.
The County offers a wide range of possibilities, from tent and RV
camping to luxurious resorts.
Camping is a great way to experience Bruce County. Bruce Peninsula National Park, along with three provincial parks -- MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Sauble Falls and Inverhuron -- allow you to get close to nature while still offering the convenience of nearby stores, attractions and events. Check out our events page for ideas. There are also private and municipal campgrounds, along the shore or nestled back in the forest.
Cabins and cottages are in abundance along the shores of Lake Huron and inland lakes and rivers. The Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory provides an opportunity to stay in a wilderness setting for a very reasonable price, in exchange for a small stewardship and hosting role. Similar opportunities exist at the Cabot Head Lighthouse.
The Lake Huron and Georgian Bay shores have many resorts. With their very different ecology and
landscapes, the two shores offer completely different experiences. You might want to stay a few nights at
each. Wherever you stay, the opportunities for outdoor and nature
experiences are many Things To Do: fishing, boating, bird watching, botanizing or hiking the
Bruce Trail to name just a few.
Check the Bruce County map for details on accommodations. And when you get back home, let us know where you stayed and how you liked it.
