Have you ever been sitting around on the weekend wondering what to do? And all that comes to mind is renting a movie, seeing a movie, or taking a walk around the block with the dog (I know that’s nice some nights also)? Something with more flavor that’s interesting and fun would be nice…
This is the reason we’ve created the Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport. It’s an “Amazing Race” style self-guided contest that started on May 1st and runs until Oct 31st, 2012. Yes, that’s a mouth-full but it’s difficult to describe until you actually participate.

This is a full blown scavenger hunt across Bruce County, led by clues, with tons of prizes! If your kids love reading maps during a drive, then put them in charge of this adventure.
Clues will uncover breathtaking spots from the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula to the southern end of towns on the Lake Huron shoreline. It’s simply a fold out brochure with a punch card that acts like a treasure map offering visual clues to find hidden boxes in various towns. And guess what, just for playing, the first 1,500 people to hand in a minimum of 7 stops completed receive a free Official Adventurer T-shirt! “How cool is that?!“
If this is your first year, join us at the Adventure Passport contest launch party on June 9th. There’s a new additional prize we’re giving away on this day to the person who finds the specially marked Explore the Bruce walking stick. The winner with 5 of their favourite friends will be dining in Carrick Wines & Cider’s vineyard enjoying a menu filled with local food.
So, I’ve convinced you this is something you’d enjoy trying out over the next 6 months. Yet, you’re wondering how do you get started on this sleuth based road-trip adventure?

It’s simple! Get an Adventure Passport at any Bruce County Visitor Information Centre in coordination with a GreyBruce Map. Load your car with your family and friends with your outlined path from town to town. Find the boxes and get your hole punches. Play for a day, weekend, week or over the next 6 months; making sure to hand in your card prior to Oct 31st. If you’re one of those people who finish the Passport contest early there’s also an additional Adventurer contest where you submit Photos, Videos, and stories on the Adventure Passport website to keep the contest going!
