Ontario Farmers Markets
Local is the way to go
Bruce County offers fresh produce straight from local farms. The Foodlink Grey
Bruce network "Buy Local! Buy Fresh" is a directory that lists farmers and culinary events. Locate a farmers market or find a restaurant that serves locally grown cuisine. You
can find everything from beer and cheese to apples and bison.
Nothing tastes better than serving your family fresh, locally grown produce all season long. Bruce County boasts locally grown and produced foods such as: Fruit & Vegetables; Meat & Dairy; Bakery & Confectionaries; Honey, Syrup & Preserves; Beans, Grains & Flour, and Beverages. You can seek out the produce and pick it right from the farms in an array of farming techniques from organic, natural and traditional.
Hobby farmers, Mennonite farmers and garden market farmers all add to the diversity of local markets. They offer choices from fresh vegetables and fruit to fish and beef. Homemade fudge, sumptuous seasonal berry pies and organic products are just some of the main sweet things you can find at the numerous farmer's markets. Most markets run from the May long weekend until Canadian Thanksgiving this October.
