The first library in B
ruce County opened in the late 1800s, and in fact our most picturesque branch is still located in a log cabin! The modern day Bruce County Public Library system was established in 1967, but traces its origins to the Library Co-operative of the 1940s. At that time it was recognized that partnerships and sharing of resources was the way of the future, as it continues to be today.
With 18 branches plus headquarters, the Bruce County Public Library serves the entire County of Bruce, as well as bordering communities in Grey County. Bruce County libraries are also rolling out FREE Wireless Internest through all their branches starting the summer of 2010.
The eReaders available for loan are meant for patrons to learn what the devices are like and are already loaded with classic book titles, enabling the user to choose and read any of those titles. Users will not be able to add new titles to the eReaders themselves, but titles will be refreshed periodically by Library staff.
