Lion's Head Farmers' Market in Lion\'s Head
Back To ListingsMay 19, 2012 - October 6, 2012
Celebrate Saturday mornings with us at the beautiful Lion's Head beach amidst a wide range of local products.

The atmosphere is fun, festive and friendly, with live music (thanks Gerry and all the rest), kids playing on the slides and swings, and people strolling and chatting. The tarts are tasty, the croissants flaky, and the bread, brownies and other baked goods are beautiful. The wool spinning lady is there with her lovely knitwear and meats, cheese, grains and pasta come from just down-the-line. The organic produce is as fresh as it can be, sometimes just an hour or two out of the gardens. You’ll find oh-so-good-for-you seasonal greens – spinach, kale, chard, bok choy, the best salads - root veggies, tomatoes, cukes, heritage apples, fresh herbs, honey and more. What a good way to stock up for the week!

You’d expect vendors to show up for market even in inclement weather – after all, when the radishes are ready, they’re ready – but when customers arrive during a heavy downpour and wade through deep puddles to get under the shelter of the pavilion, where the water is running chilly and fast over the concrete floor on its merry way to the bay, well, that’s commitment on both sides.

As farmers’ markets do, this one attracts plenty of loyal regulars from week to week – and believe me, the vendors appreciate them. You!

Again this year the Lion’s Head Farmers Market is happening every Saturday morning, 9 - 12, from Victoria Day until Thanksgiving. Hope to see you there!
