If there is one place in Bruce County of which I never tire, it is the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton.  Renovated, up-dated, and wonderful, the Museum is packed with exhibits and displays.  It is also home to an amazing series of events over the course of a given year – attractions like their Candlelight Music series.

And this fall, you are invited to visit the Museum on Saturday afternoons at three p.m. for a series of musical journeys.  There are five performances scheduled for November and December and they begin on November 20th.  ?Featuring talented performers from Bruce and Grey Counties, Candlelight Music Saturdays conclude on December 18th.

The first concert on November 20th presents the Kincardine Scottish Fiddle Orchestra playing traditional music of Scotland.   Next up is the Bruce Brass Quintet on November 27th, followed by Jubal’s Daughters, a flautist and harpist playing styles of music ranging from classical to oriental, Celtic to jazz.  Folk musician Juanita Wilkins makes her appearance on December 11th while Owen Sound’s Gypsy Jive Band brings you something different – a Klezmer Christmas.

All ages are welcome and admission is by donation.  Performers will receive half of the door admission so your generosity is most appreciated.  And when the concert is over, head for the galleries for a whirlwind tour of Bruce County’s history.
