Hi, I’m Lisa Greig, the newest member of the Bruce County Tourism “Explore the Bruce” team! I fell in love with the Bruce when I was growing up on my family beef farm in Lion’s Head. I was away for about ten years, working in Tourism and economic development in Peterborough, but the whole time I just knew that I’d be back here eventually. I heard of an opportunity at Bruce County Tourism and I leapt at the chance. I felt like I had hit the jackpot when I got the job! Not only did I get to come home, but I get to promote this amazing area as a first rate travel destination. If you feel the way I do about Bruce County, you’ll understand that being on the Explore the Bruce Team doesn’t really feel like work.
Snow or no snow, I’m loving this winter. So far I’ve been out Cross Country skiing with friends and hiking with my pup. There hasn’t really been enough snow to snowshoe, but they are on standby just in case!
As soon as the ‘real’ spring gets here I’m going to start training for the annual Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race in Wiarton on August 11th. I’ll probably aim for the short course this year. Check out our Bruce County events calendar for full details.
I’m also planning on touring around the entire County this summer but some of my trips will be: Swimming The Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park, a Boat Cruise and Hike to Flower Pot Island, paddling the Saugeen River, road tripping to complete the 2012 Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport and weekend hiking trips on the Bruce Trail.
This is where I live, this is what I love. Please give me a call, I’d be happy to help you build your itinerary to Explore the Bruce!
